Did You Know That Dinosaurs May Have Had Feathers?
Did you know that dinosaurs may have had feathers? 
The previously thought of scaly beasts have now transformed in our mind's eye into prehistoric fluffy giants. According to Pascal Godefroit from the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural History in Brussels, over 30 species of non-avian dinosaurs have been confirmed to have feathers, either from direct fossilized evidence of feathers, or other indicators, such as quill knobs. Up until now, all of those dinosaurs were confirmed to be carnivorous theropods, like Velociraptor and the ancestors of birds. However, fossilized remains of a new type of herbivorous dinosaur indicate that all dinosaurs may have had feathers.

-The name dinosaur means 'frighteningly big lizard' in Greek.
-Dinosaurs ruled the Earth for over 160 million yearsIt is believed that dinosaurs lived on Earth until around 65 million years ago when a mass extinction occurred.
-Scientists believe that the event leading to the extinction may have been a massive asteroid impact or huge volcanic activity.
-The first dinosaur to be formally named was the Megalosaurus, back in 1824.
-Many of the largest dinosaurs such as the Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus were herbivores.
-Pterodactyls are not dinosaurs, they were flying reptiles that lived during the age of dinosaurs but by definition, they do not fall into the same category.
-Dinosaur skulls had large holes that made their skulls lighter. Some of the largest skulls were as long as a car!
-Birds descended from a type of dinosaurs known as theropods.
-The biggest dinosaurs were over 100 feet long and 50 feet tall with the largest dinosaur being the sauropod and the smallest dinosaurs being mussaurus.
-The first recorded description of a possible dinosaur bone discovery dates back to 3,500 years ago in China. At the time, people did not know about dinosaurs, so they thought their discovery belonged to dragons.
