A Piece of Cake
When cake becomes sculpture, sugar becomes glass and wallpaper sets the scene.
What if a cake could become a vase, a fruit bowl or even a delicate decorative sculpture?
A Piece of Cake is a playful exploration of food and decorative art, created by Italian photographer and stylist duo Nocera&Ferri in collaboration with food stylist Sarah Hardy, creative director Paola Sanchez and wallpaper designer Sian Zeng.
Together, they have created three surreal still lifes where elaborate cakes become sculptural vessels, sugar imitates glass and wallpaper transforms each setting into a dreamlike world.
A Cake in Bloom
An ornate pink cake takes the form of an antique porcelain vase, with delicate peonies emerging from its centre. Set against Sian Zeng's Hua Trees wallpaper, it blurs the boundaries between food, flowers and decorative art.
A Little Sugar Magic
What looks like delicate blown glass is actually made entirely from sugar. Filled with purple flowers and set against a dreamy clouds blue wallpaper, this translucent sculpture is almost too beautiful to eat.
A Feast for the Eyes
An elaborate white cake is transformed into an ornate fruit bowl, overflowing with fresh fruit and foliage. Against a soft bamboo wallpaper, the edible sculpture becomes a decorative centrepiece.

Bringing together photography, food styling, creative direction and wallpaper, A Piece of Cake celebrates the unexpected possibilities that emerge when different creative disciplines meet.
