How does your magnetic wallpaper work?

Our unique magnetic wallpaper is created in three stages, allowing it to be receptive to magnets (a bit like a metal fridge surface). A magnetic receptive liner is placed against the wall directly, followed by a white lining paper and finally the patterned wallpaper, creating a fully-interactive landscape. Will my cellphone work around the magnetic wallpaper? Is it safe?

Think of our magnetic wallpapers like a metal cabinet. It will not disrupt phone signals nor will it attract jewelry, as its magnetic receptive. This means magnets are attracted to it - just like a fridge or a metal cabinet.

Which paste do I use to install Sian Zeng wallpapers?

For our classic (non-magnetic) Wallpapers we recommend any high quality, ready-mixed wallpaper paste for paste the wall wallpapers.

For our Magnetic Wallpapers we recommend any high-quality, high performance ready mixed wallpaper adhesives. If you are based in the UK or Europe, you can also purchase our recommended wallpaper paste directly from us.

How do I install the Magnetic wallpaper?

We have 2 different finishes for our magnetic wallpapers, each with its own process for application. You will find the relevant hanging guide in a downloadable pdf format within the product description page of your chosen design.

How many rolls will I need?

This is a tricky question. It depends greatly on the size of your room and the pattern you have chosen. For example, if you are hanging a pattern that requires a straight match, you will need fewer rolls than one needing every-other length to be half dropped (see techniques below). For your convenience, we’ve provided a wallpaper calculator to help you determine the number of rolls you will need, depending on the pattern. For more complicated rooms – for example, with a window or with a sliding rooftop – we are happy to help. Please email us your room dimensions and, if possible, a rough drawing of the room.

What should I do if my wall height is above the max height (3.2m) your wallpaper mural allows?

If your wall is just above 3.2m, we recommend the following: If your wall does not contain a skirting board, then you may consider putting one in place. This will allow the start point of your wallpaper panels to be raised. This should give you enough wallpaper length to reach the top of your walls. Alternatively, another option is to paint the walls the same shade of white as your chosen wallpaper. The top of our wallpaper panels are white or off-white in colour, which may not be particularly noticeable if the walls are the same shade. Further, some of our customers have a dividing architectural feature on their wall. If this applies to you, you can wallpaper until the start of this feature.

What should I do if my wall height is shorter than 190.5cm (the height of the tallest tree in the Hua Trees Mural wallpaper)?

For example, if you have a chair rail running through your wall, and you would like to place the mural wallpaper above the chair rail but worry it will cut into to the tree design. For situations like this, we recommend you cut away as much wallpaper as needed from the bottom of the design rather than the top to help the interruption be less noticeable. The bottom of our trees design is considerably more bushy than the top, which means that losing some of this part of the design is less noticeable than taking away from the trees.

Can I see samples of the wallpaper before I place my order?

We highly recommend that you purchase samples of the wallpaper before placing your final order. This is because the colours seen on your monitor may differ slightly from the actual colour of the wallpaper. Even things such as the lighting in your room can also affect the overall look. An even better reason to order wallpaper samples first: with each sample order, you will receive a 10% discount code to be applied to your next order. This discount will more than compensate for your sample purchase and give you the chance to test your wallpaper before committing. Wallpaper samples can be purchased from here.

What is a Batch Number? Why are they important?

Batch numbers indicate rolls that have been produced together. Rolls from the same batch should be hung together to avoid any roll-to-roll colour discrepancies. Batch numbers can be found on the label of our wallpaper rolls.

Are Sian Zeng wallpapers suitable for bathrooms?

Our wallpapers are suitable for most areas of the bathroom, except for where in direct contact with water or anywhere that is highly humid. You can coat your wallpaper with Decorator's Varnish to give it an extra layer of protection in wet or humid rooms, such as bathrooms or kitchens.

What happens if we ordered a few rolls and need more?

Because wallpapers are printed in batches, colours may vary slightly between each batch. Before ordering additional rolls, please either email us the original batch number or your date of purchase. This way, we can track the batch your wallpaper came from and match you additional rolls accordingly.

How to care for our wallpapers?

A complete wallpaper buying and care guide is available here. To ensure the longevity of your wallpapers, please follow the hanging instructions on the reverse of the wallpaper roll label or the special magnetic wallpaper hanging guide included in your parcel. To clean your wallpaper: all of our wallpapers are either washable or spongeable. The proper cleaning and care guides are included on the specific wallpaper product description pages. Depending on your wallpaper choice, the proper cleaning instructions are as follows:

Washable: Dirt and some domestic water-based stains may be cleaned from the wallcovering with a damp cloth and soapy water. Spongeable: Adhesive may be wiped from the face of the wallcovering with a damp cloth or sponge at the time of hanging without visible damage - provided the adhesive is still damp

How do I give my wallpaper an extra layer of protection?

If you would like to add an extra layer of protection to your wallpaper, we recommend sealing it with Polyvine Decorators Varnish, available from our store. You may want to consider this option if your wallpaper is placed in a high-traffic area such as bathrooms or corridors.

What should I do when I receive my wallpaper?

Important: please ensure that all of your wallpaper rolls have the same batch number on arrival. You must inspect your wallpaper for any faults or flaws upon receipt of your order and before hanging. Please let us know within 48 hours if there are any problems. We cannot be responsible for replacing any wallpaper that has been hung before inspection. If at any point you are unsure how to proceed, please contact us.

Customer Service

Do you offer gift packaging?

If required, we can provide a gift card with a handwritten message or wrap certain orders in tissue. Please let us know by filling out the special instructions box at the check out.

Will you be able to recommend a decorator for us?

For our UK-based customers, we can recommend a few decorators that we have worked with and had great experiences with. Currently, we cannot recommend decorators outside of the UK, although this may change in the future. If you are stuck, please feel free to contact us, and we will endeavour to help you.

I don’t know how many rolls of wallpaper I will need. Will you be able to help me?

Where can I purchase Sian Zeng products?

All our products can be bought online at our online shop and can be delivered anywhere around the world. If you would like to find Sian Zeng products in a local store, please visit our store finder page, where you can find a list of our stockists by country.

Can I place an order online without an account?

Yes. Once you have added all the items you wish to purchase to your shopping basket, simply proceed to checkout, fill in your details, and select ‘Checkout as Guest’ in the top right corner.

How do I use the discount code?

At checkout, you will see a discount code field. Please enter your discount code into the box and click apply. Your discount will be applied to your cart immediately.

How do I use the gift voucher?

To redeem your gift voucher, simply enter your voucher code to our discount code field at checkout and click apply. Your gift voucher will be applied to your cart immediately.

Your Account

How do I create an account?

You can create an account in two ways: either by clicking ‘Register’ and completing the necessary steps, or during the checkout process, where you will be able to select ‘Save my information for a faster checkout’. Your account will be automatically created once you complete your purchase.

How do I edit my account information?

You can edit your account information at any time by logging into your account, selecting ‘View Address’ and clicking ‘Edit/Delete.’ Here, you will be able to change your name, phone number and delivery address. Please note that if you change your delivery address in the ‘My Account’ portal of our website, it will not automatically update your delivery address for your previously submitted order. In the event that you would like to change the delivery address of a submitted order, please notify us immediately, and we will be able to amend your details as long as the order has not been dispatched.

How do I check my order status?

Once you have placed an order, you will be able to see the status of your order in your account dashboard.

Failed – Payment failed or was declined (unpaid)

Unfulfilled – Payment received and your products are being packed

Fulfilled – Order dispatched

Cancelled – Cancelled by an admin or the customer

Refunded – Refunded by an admin

If I change my delivery details in my account, will my pending order be delivered to my new delivery address?

Changing the delivery details in your account will not affect any pending orders. If you need to change the delivery address of a pending order, we can only do this if the order has not yet been dispatched. You will be responsible for any changes in delivery charges, which must be paid before we can dispatch your products to you.

I have set up an account online but I have not received a confirmation email. what should I do?

Delivery and Returns Policy

When will my order ship?

We aim to ship all products the next working day after we receive an order.

What is your returns policy?

We have a 30 days returns policy. Please see our Delivery and Returns Policy page for more details.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We aim to ship all UK orders in 2-3 working days, orders to Europe in 3-6 working days and orders to the rest of the world in 5-9 working days. If you require urgent delivery, please contact us at and we may be able to arrange a fast delivery for you.

How much is delivery?

Free UK delivery is offered on orders of £45 and above. UK delivery is £1.75 for small parcels and and £6.70 for medium-sized parcels, as calculated by Royal Mail. For more details on international shipping prices, please go to our Delivery terms and Returns page.

My order hasn’t arrived.

If your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated time period for delivery, please contact us, and we will contact our shipping company. If there is an excessive delay on your order (15 days for the UK, 20 workings days for Europe and 25 working days for the rest of the world), we will send a replacement item to you immediately.

An item is missing from my order.

If you receive your order from us and are missing any item(s), please notify us immediately, and we will rectify the mistake straight away.
